Not The Same Old Program

Create a mental shift and you will experience success!

When clients come to work with me I ask them to do one thing- stop thinking about what their body looks like/weighs and start getting in tune with how their body feels.  If you fuel your body properly with the right thoughts, nourishment, physical activity and rest, the outcome you are looking for will present itself.  That’s just time on the road.  Consistency, not perfection.  What you will experience right away is quite a bit more energy, confidence and strength.  Remember, you’re in this to create a healthy life, not just a smaller you in the next 30 days.

Today when you have a microwave moment, I want you to start thinking about “who you would like to create”.  Start to visualize her/him and not just what you look like but rather see her/him in action.  Full of energy & excitement.  We all have a flame burning within us.  Let’s give it some fuel and don’t ever let anyone blow it out!

Never Say No To Nutrition

How many of us have run out the door in the morning with only a cup of coffee in our hand?  Our bodies require fuel!   Unfortunately, we are an “on the go society”.  Just like fitting exercise into our busy day, we MUST fit good, solid nutrition into our day as well.  Here’s my answer:

Breakfast On-The-Go Cookie (NO Sugar, No Flour)

3 ripe bananas

1/4 cup applesauce

1/4 cup skim milk OR almond milk

2 cups oatmeal

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup raisins OR chocolate chips

1/4 cup coconut (optional)

Preheat oven 350. Mash bananas.  Stir in the rest of the ingredients. Using a tablespoon amount, drop cookie batter onto a prepared cookie sheet.  Flatten each cookie.  Cook 18-20 minutes.  Allow time to cool.  Enjoy!

Be prepared!  Place 3 cookies in a plastic sandwich bag and store in the refrigerator.  You can grab a bag in the morning and your day is off to a great start.

3 cookies and a protein shake = great am fuel “on the go”.

*Note:  Do not expect these to be exactly like your grandmother’s oatmeal raisin cookies.

Creatives

We are not just creative, we are “Creatives”

Who remembers watching “The Miracle Of Life” in health class?  I recall being absolutely fascinated by the creation of human life but even more so by how amazing a woman’s body truly is.

At the moment of conception, a woman’s body creates a safe cocoon to protect and nurture it’s 9 month guest- AWESOME!

As soon as the “little” is ready to checkout of the Grande Mommy (referencing a hotel), a woman’s body makes food (you may choose not to use it, but the fact remains that your body can do it)- AMAZING!

If this creative process can be worked through you, what other creative process is waiting for you?

Yet another reason to take care of your being: body, mind and spirit!

You are a creative!

Wake up every morning and say, “Thank you for opening my eyes, now show me what I can create.”

What a simple statement.  Say it, mean it and get jazzed!  You have just brought in some powerful creative energy.  Allow that energy to be worked through you!

*A little note to every Mom on the planet:

You remember how awesome you are!  One day out of the year to say thanks is just not enough.

If women are the glue that holds the world together, You are Gorilla Glue!

No Bench Warmers Please

Growing up my dad would always tell me how important it was to keep my body in great physical shape so come game time the outcome would be peak level performance .

Better shape you’re in, better you play!

“We’re just passing through” was his other famous line.  I never understood how he could be so right about one and so wrong about the other.

Your life is your game. Not only are you meant to play, but you are supposed to be the MVP.   No cruising through, no bench warmers please.

After spending 6 1/2 years as a special education teacher I knew I needed to make a change.  Career wise I was “just cruising through”.  I did my job, but I wasn’t passionate about it.  It was a paycheck with great health benefits.

When you do not listen to your body, it will scream at you!

Even though I was eating well, exercising and getting a full 8 hours of sleep, my body and mind were exhausted.  I was completely drained.  I had just finished reading Creating Affluence by Deepak Chopra.  “How can I help” was the question he asked his readers to put out to the Universe.  Just before making my list of what I thought I wanted to do with my life, I asked that question.

Writing exercise:

Rewrite your movie.  Without allowing fear based thoughts to come into your mind (I can’t do that, I’m not smart enough, I don’t have the money, I don’t have the time), write out what you would like your life to look like. Be specific!!!  “What would I do for free” was the question I answered when trying to figure out a new career path.

Assist people in strengthening themselves so they can live a passionate life-KA

After completing my list in 1996 the Universe responded by providing opportunities for me to leave my steady check/health benefits, obtain a personal training certification, move to another state and begin my new movie.

There are no wrong turns, just curves in the road.
